She is a fresh maid from Myanmar, worked with me for 3 and a half months. We found she was not suitable and sent her to the agency so she can look for another employer. After having sent her to the agency (while packing at 3am for a flight at 9 the next morning) we discovered my sister's BRAND NEW MOBILE PHONE GONE. The mobile phone was locked away in the luggage with the passport, camera and chargers. It had never occurred to me that she'd steal, the mobile phone hidden in her shoes was my sisters, the reason she ask to keep the shampoo I gave her because there were JEWELRY inside. ALL THESE ITEMS WERE LOCKED AWAY!. IT WAS A DELIBERATE AND INTENTIONAL ACT!
The mistake we made was to inform the agency (VGA Employment Agency at Balestair Vincent) and let the agency handle it. By the time my husband checked the maid's luggage, nothing was found. We should have reported it to the police and let the police investigate.
