Hi, my maid is going back to Indonesia for a week and I've prepared her return tickets and taken care of her work permit and such.

However, I heard that she will also need some kind of 'chop' on her passport from the Indonesian embassy or she will have problems returning to Singapore. Can anyone tell me what exactly is this about and what I should do? Appreciate any answers given, thanks.

Hi Peter,

Just bring the maid to the Indonesian Embassy to get a sticker (with your address in Singapore). This sticker indicates that she is working in Singapore and at the address stated. Without this sticker, she may faced a lot questions by the Indonesian Immigration Authority and may be required to pay $$$ in order the Officer could close one eye to let her through, on her return to Singapore.

Ah, thanks alot. I'll make a trip to the embassy with my maid tomorrow.
