How do I use maidcity.com to search and check the full details of an Au Pair?
- Please click the “Au Pair List” button found on the left panel and it will display all the Au Pair applicants. Click the photo to see their full details. You can also browse the scrolling Au Pair photo above the homepage. Hover the mouse over the photo to see the basic information of the Au Pair. You may also click the photo to see the full biodata of the Au Pair.

How do I shortlist the Au Pair/s I want?
- To short list the preferred Au Pair/s, please “✔” the check box next to the photo of the Au Pair/s that you are interested in and hit the “Add to Maid List” button at the bottom of the list. To remove a shortlisted Au Pair, just simply “uncheck” the check box.

What country are your Au Pairs from?
- At this moment, most of the Au Pairs are from Philippines, Indonesia, India and Myanmar but we are also exploring the possibility of recruiting those from other countries such as Thailand, Vietnam or maybe China.

Why should we get Au Pairs from Singapore?
- Most of the Au Pairs in Singapore are exposed to the modern technologies, including common electronics/electrical devices, house hold electrical appliances, etc. hence they will be able to pick up the operation of such appliances in your home pretty fast.

What will be the assurance that the Au Pair can work well here in Norway?
- Jobuzz only recruit experienced maids/Au Pairs, particularly those who have been working in Singapore. Throughout Jobuzz experience, most of the Au Pairs who worked in Singapore fit very well in Norwegian culture and working environment compared to those who are fresh and without any prior experience either as a helper or maid.

How can I be sure if the Au Pair I shortlisted suit my family?
- After you have shortlisted the Au Pairs you preferred, Jobuzz will arrange a tele-interview and with webcam if necessary so that you can ask questions and check relevant information directly with the Au Pairs. You will also be able to judge their English capability and if they can do the tasks you want them to do, etc. Depending on the situation, some of the current employers of the Au Pairs may able to provide references.

What will be the next step after I have chosen a suitable Au Pair for my family?
- The next process would be to get the necessary documents ready and to apply for the Visa. Our experienced consultants will guide you along and assist you in getting the forms, documents ready. We will also be assisting the Au Pair in the Visa application process which will be done through the Danish Embassy in Singapore. We will also be updating you periodically regarding the Au Pair Visa status.

How long will be the visa processing?
- The processing of the Visa depends largely on the UDI (Norwegian Directorate of Immigration), but currently it would take about (3) three – (4) four months.

How soon can my Au Pair arrive in Norway?
- Once the Visa is approved, Jobuzz will co-ordinate a suitable date where it is agreeable and convenient for both the host family/new employer and the Au Pair’s current employer in Singapore.
- The employer in Singapore is responsible for the repatriation and the cancellation of the work permit the Au Pair is holding while she is still in Singapore, hence it is necessary to seek the consent of the current employer before the Au Pair can depart from Singapore legally.

How will my Au Pair arrive in Norway?
- The selected Au pair would normally arrive in Norway by air. Arrangement of the flight/s would normally be done by Jobuzz after a specific date has been agreed upon by both the host family/new employer and the Au Pair’s current employer in Singapore.
- The host family/new employer should make necessary arrangement to pick up the Au Pair at the airport.

Is there an age limit for Au Pair position in Norway?
- Yes. Au Pair should be between 18-30 years of age. However, at this moment we are only recruiting those who are between 23-29 years old and currently working in Singapore.

Would you consider those who have similar working experience as a Domestic Helper/Maids in countries other than Singapore?
- Yes, but it will be on a case to case basis. One of the criteria is that we need to meet and get to know you first. Apart from that, we also need to verify your working experience, and that we do not have any major issues getting the documentation/paper work done at the location you are currently in.

What are the other requirements?
- Apart from the requirements by the UDI and the preference of the prospective host family/employer, we prefer those:
(1) With at least 1-4 years of related working experience abroad
(2) Holding a Singapore Work Permit
(3) Who are able to converse well in English
(4) Good natured and of pleasant personality
(5) Willing to work hard, sincere and honest

How soon will I get an employer?
- The duration is very subjective, we have applicants that found employer within a week, and we also have some that took a few months.
5.
How many years will the contract be?
- The contract would normally be one (1) year and extendable for another year. An Au Pair can only work for a maximum of two (2) years in Norway.
6.
What is the working hour there?
- Generally an Au Pair will be working for either 5 hours a day for 6 days or 6 hours a day for 5 days. Working hours should be 30 hours/week.
7.
Is there any off day given?
- Yes there will be off day/s and it should depend on the mutual agreement between the Au Pair and the host family. Generally weekend will be given as off day/s.
8.
What are the benefits that I would get as an Au Pair?
- Most of the host families/employers would provide you a separate bedroom, and wherever possible with TV and Internet connection. You will also be entitled but not limited to the following:
(1) 25 days of Annual Leave
(2) Opportunity to Study Norwegian language
(3) Public Holidays
(4) Insurance Scheme
(5) Free Board and Lodging
